1. How do I sign in to eForms Online?
eForms is part of Registers of Scotland Online Services. Go to https://www.eservices.ros.gov.uk and select the Login link in the top right corner of the screen. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields and click the Submit button. (The first time you log in, you must accept the Terms and Conditions before proceeding). You are now logged in to Registers of Scotland Online Services and can access eForms via the link on the left hand side of the page.

If you do not have a Registers of Scotland Online Services login and would like to use the service in future, please email eservices@ros.gov.uk including your full name, email address, contact telephone number and the name of the organisation you work for.

(Please note that each person using the system must have his or her own username. Only one person can be logged in under one username at any one time, and, in the event of a user forgetting the password, eServices cannot reset it without contacting the user to whom it belongs).

2. How do I use eForms?
There are some short introductory training modules on the eForms Online Training page at http://www.ros.gov.uk/eforms/training_eforms.html. These include Your Details on the eForms System, Form 2 Application and Saving a Draft Copy/Template.

3. Where are the Guidance Notes for the eForms?
A link to the notes can be found on the eForms page of the Registers of Scotland website (http://www.ros.gov.uk/eforms/index.html), or by using the following link: http://www.ros.gov.uk/pdfs/newforms_notes.pdf. The notes are in PDF format and can be printed off or saved to your computer.

4. Can I save the eForms?
Yes. The eForms can be saved as an editable Draft Copy (HTML format) which can later be amended, and they can also be saved as a PDF when completed. See the Saving a Draft Copy/Template module on the eForms Online Training page at http://www.ros.gov.uk/eforms/training_eforms.html for more detail on how to do this.

5. I have forgotten my password, what can I do?
Your password is totally secure and is only known to you. If you have forgotten your password, please call the eServices Support Team on 0845 607 0160 from 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, or email eservices@ros.gov.uk and they will reset it. One of the team will notify you of the new password allocated and you will then be asked to change this password when you next access eForms Online.

6. What are the password criteria?
The password construction must comply with the following rules:

  • a minimum of 8 characters in length
  • a mix of lower case, upper case and numerals (all three required)

(For example: Password1 or 1998August)

7. Why has my password expired?
Your password automatically expires every 90 days, when you will be asked to change it. Your new password must not be exactly the same as any of the last 4 passwords you have used.

8. Why has my account been locked and how do I unlock it?
Your account is locked when you have entered the incorrect password 5 times. Call the eServices Support Team on 0845 607 0160 from 08.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday or email eservices@ros.gov.uk to have your account unlocked.

9. Why has my account been suspended and what should I do?
Your account is suspended when you have not used the system for more than 6 months. Call the eServices Support Team on 0845 607 0160 from 08.00 to 18.00 Monday to Friday or email eservices@ros.gov.uk to have your account released.

10. I have been logged out of eForms, why?
After 90 minutes of inactivity your session will time-out and you will need to log in again. We recommend that you save your form regularly to avoid losing work in this event.

Or you may have attempted to log in to eForms when you were already logged in. If you do this then your original session will be terminated. Check that you do not have more than one instance of the eForms webpage open.
