Payment of Fees

All applications for recording in the Register of Sasines or registration in the Land Register must be submitted with the appropriate fee. The fee can be paid by cheque, cash or Direct Debit. Direct Debit is the only payment method for artl.

All other services will be invoiced.

VAT is not applicable unless stated.

Direct Debit is the most efficient and cost effective way of paying registration fees. It avoids applications for registration being rejected due either to insufficient or invalid payment (e.g. unsigned cheque). Also, there are no overpayment refunds to bank as only the correct fee is taken when a higher fee has been wrongly entered for an application.

Additional points

Firms with separate offices and FAS numbers require unique Direct Debit FAS numbers to be set up for each office. This ensures that completed applications are returned to the correct office. However the same bank account can be shared by the different offices, if desired, and as a result only one bank Direct Debit instruction form would require to be completed.

If you have any questions on using Direct Debit to pay for registration fees, please contact Finance Section on 0131 479 3632.
