BUSINESS CUSTOMER PRODUCTS
A set of special information products and services for RoS's business customers. These products and services are offered by the Business Development Section, Registers of Scotland, Meadowbank House, 153 London Road, Edinburgh EH8 7AU, tel: 0131 200 3966 or e-mail richard.greig@ros.gov.uk. They are designed to meet the requirements of business customers for bulk and/or aggregated data. Customers interested in taking up these services and requiring details about prices should contact the Business Development Section directly. RoS is compelled by Part XII of the Schedule to the Fees in the Registers of Scotland Order 1995 to charge a fee for such services which represents the full value of the work and materials involved - in other words, RoS has to seek to recover the costs of the services. Prices therefore vary and depend on the customer's individual requirements. RoS's cost-recovery charging method takes into account such factors as staff time, data production and the manipulation of the raw data. The Business Development Section will be pleased to discuss these factors with enquirers.

Title: Average Property Prices (38.5kb) Description: Monthly average prices of property from November 2000 in each registration county. Format: Electronic version; hard copy. Access Details: Website; request to Business Development Section (address above). Cost: Prices start from £30 plus VAT, depending on the customer's requirements. In this case, the costs reflect the extensive time spent by RoS staff on the manipulation of raw data into a format suitable for customers' use.
Title: Customised Reports (37.2kb) Description: Information from the registers, in a report format to suit the customer's special requirements. Format: Electronic version; hard copy. Access Details: Website; request to RoS Customer Service Centres. Cost: By special arrangement. Notes: RoS has a limited capability to provide bespoke reports for geographic areas of Scotland. Title: Land Values Data (36.3kb) Description: Information pertaining to all the property sales for each registration county. Format: Electronic version; hard copy. Access Details: Website; request to Business Development Section (address above). Cost: Prices start from £5 plus VAT and depend on the size of the county or counties in which the customer is interested. In this case, the main costs are the costs of data production. Notes: The data contains the following information and is compatible with most database or EIS software: date of registration; price paid; property address; postcode; georeference; parties' names.

Access Details: Website; request to Business Development Section (address above). Cost: Prices start from £40 plus VAT, depending on the customer's requirements. RoS is required by statute to recover its costs. In this case, the costs reflect the extensive time spent by RoS staff on the manipulation of raw data into a format suitable for customers' use. Notes: The reports are available by quarter from 1994 and by month from April 2000.
