Registers of Scotland (RoS) today (Tuesday 15 December) officially launched their eRegistration system that will radically transform the way the public, business and government deal in land and property. This new online process, called artl, is the one of the first in the world and will complete the registration of property purchases in just 24 hours.

05/11/2009 — Scotland’s property prices rose over last quarter
Registers of Scotland issued figures today showing the average price of a residential property in Scotland increased by 6.1% in the third quarter (July to September) of 2009 and is now £154,453. Registers of Scotland issued figures today showing the total value of sales across Scotland registered during the second quarter of 2009 (April - June) was over £2.3 billion, a decrease of 51.2% over the same quarter last year. The volume of sales transactions in Scotland during the second quarter decreased by 47.8% compared to the same quarter last year.

The volume of sales transactions in Scotland during January to March 2009 showed a decrease of 57.1% compared to the same quarter last year. The decrease from the previous quarter (October to December 2008) was 38.7%.

11/02/2009 - Average Scotland house price shows 3% decrease year on year as volumes of sales continue to decline
The average house price for Scotland over the fourth quarter (October to December) of 2008 showed a decrease of 3% when compared with the same period in 2007.
