International Consultancy Group

Registers of Scotland's (RoS) participation in international activities is managed by the International Consultancy Group (ICG). The key international activities that the ICG manages are as follows:

  • International liaison
  • Provision of consultancy
  • Study tours and training
  • International conferences and workgroups

International Liaison
The ICG manages all forms of international liaison, such as general visits from representatives from other Land Registration organisations, approaches from organisations and individuals for information about the Scottish system of land registration, and requests for support for international project activities. The ICG also manages all the delivery of international project activities for RoS, such as financial management, identifying appropriate expertise and managing the delivery of project inputs.

Consultancy
RoS has been involved in providing consultancy expertise for over 15 years and the ICG has contributed to numerous land administration projects world-wide. ICG experience in the international arena includes the provision of expertise to projects in Abu Dhabi, Afghanistan, Albania, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Croatia, Egypt, the Republic of Georgia, India, Ireland, Kosovo, the Kyrgyz Republic, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malawi, Malta, Poland, Russia, Serbia, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Thailand. We provide a variety of expertise to such projects, and select experts from a wide range of RoS staff.

Study Tours and Training
The ICG has also been actively involved in hosting study visits and supplying training services in both the UK and abroad. We have hosted visits from land administration officials from many countries around the world, including Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Georgia, Iraq, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malawi, Malta, Moldova, Namibia, the Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Uganda and Ukraine. Training visits are always tailored to the requirements of each group and to the level of staff involved.

International Conferences
The ICG manages attendance at international conferences, workgroups and meetings relevant to the work of RoS. This includes the United Nations Working Party on Land Administration, the European Land Registry Association and the European Land Information Service.
