Land and Property Data

Registers of Scotland's Business Development section provides a range of Land and Property Data reports and services containing information about land and property transactions and statistics in Scotland. We are always happy to get feedback on what we do and to review new requests for customised data so please do contact us with queries.

What information can Land and Property Data provide?

• Data extractions from the RoS main registration systems, including historical data from 2000
• A bespoke data and analytical reports service based on data fields extracted from the Land Register process such as price and postcode
• Free monthly and quarterly house price statistics including historical data from April 2003
• Spatial Data reports, including a digital version of the Registration county boundaries of Scotland 

Data Extractions
We provide a number of standard data extracts from RoS registration systems:

• Sales for Consideration - monthly extract of residential sales over £5,000
• Sales for Consideration plus house type - monthly extract of residential sales over £5,000, including a field showing house type (detached, semi-detached, terrace, flat)
• Land Values - monthly extract of base data for all property sales transactions
• Sasine minutes  - monthly extract of all transactions in the Register of Sasines
• Register of Inhibitions - daily extract of all transactions in the Register of Inhibitions

Bespoke Reports
The following are examples of the types of bespoke reports we provide:

• House price statistic reports for specific geographical areas in Scotland or price ranges - reports can be created for specific time periods
• Postcode district/sector reports
• Local Authority area and registration county boundary reports
• Constituency reports
• Commercial Sales Reports
• Creditor market share - a break down of the number of securities issued to all creditors over a specific period
• Creditor / FAS Number reports - details of applications submitted by a specific lender or firm of solicitors and the current status of those applications (NB this service can only be provided to the specific lender or firm of solicitors involved)
