Personal presentments

In the run up to the Designated Day on 8 December 2014, Registers of Scotland (RoS) is aware of the possibility of a significant increase in the number of personal presentments requested at our customer service centres in Edinburgh (Meadowbank House - MBH) and Glasgow (Hanover House -HHO).

In order to ensure we are able to provide an effective service, an appointment system has been set up from Monday 24 November until 4.30pm Wednesday 3 December when our registers close to allow the switchover to the 2012 Act IT systems. CAJR personal presentments will still be in operation until 4pm each day.

Appointments will be offered from 8.30am on each day as follows:

  • 1 x appointment per hour for FRs at MBH and HHO
  • 1 x appointment per hour for TPs at MBH and HHO
  • 2 x appointments per hour for DWs at MBH and HHO
  • 2 x appointment per hour for Sasines at MBH only

The final appointments will be at 3.30pm on each day.

When booking an appointment you need to be ready to give details of the application(s) you are looking to personally present. This will allow our contact person to make a judgement on whether the application(s) are suitable for personal presentment. Guidance on personal presentments is available on Registers Update 32.

Please note that ONLY personal presentments with a prior arranged appointment time will be accepted during the period 24 November to 3 December, any others will be treated as hand delivered mail.

View practical arrangements for designated day.

Due to the changes stemming from the 2012 Act, personal presentments will no longer be needed in their current form.
