Customer service excellence

Customer service excellence is the national standard for excellence in customer service. It drives improvement and recognises high quality public service. In 2013, we retained the Customer Service Excellence award for a further three years, having first achieved the standard in 2010.

Healthy working lives

The healthy working lives gold award recognises organisations that promote health and wellbeing in employees and people in the wider community. We have achieved the award every year since 2008. Our current gold certificate is valid until June 2015.

Investors in people

Assessed across 10 indicators, the investors in people (IIP) award ensures people at participating employers are fully trained and highly motivated. We first attained the standard in 2000 and have retained it ever since.

Living wage employer

The living wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. The hourly rate is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK, set by the Living Wage Foundation. Living wage accreditation enables employers to be recognised for paying their staff a fair, decent wage. On becoming accredited, employers are awarded the Living Wage Employer mark, a Fairtrade mark for responsible pay.
