We were delighted this month to appoint Informed Solutions as our new digital supplier to help RoS deliver our digital transformation programme.
The move from paper to digital is possible following the introduction of the Land Registration etc. (Scotland) Act 2012, and we welcome the expertise that global specialists Informed Solutions will bring, ensuring that our services can be provided digitally. This will deliver real business benefits to our customers and staff, making this a very exciting time for the organisation.
Our quarterly statistics were released at the end of the month. Covering April to June this year, the figures show a 3.5 per cent rise in house prices compared to the same period in the previous year, bringing the average price to £167,765. This is the highest recorded for this quarter since we began compiling quarterly statistics in 2003.
Following discussion with the Law Society, we have updated our application rejection guidance. This relates to deeds submitted for registration but which do not bear the title number of the registered plot to which they relate. We have also published a new checklist to help you get your application right first time.
Our land register completion team have met with a number of landowners recently, and have found that they're often asked the same questions about the project. This includes what the benefits are of a completed land register, and what happens if owners don't register their land. You can get answers to these questions in our land register completion update.
To round up this month's issue, we have launched a new 60 seconds video series, of which I am the first participant. You'll all be well versed in what 'the keeper' is, so this particular video is for the benefit the wider public – but rest assured: there are many more in the pipeline that I'm sure will pique your interest.
