Revenue Scotland updated their 'SETS' (Scottish electronic tax system) portal at the end of May, introducing features that make the system even more user-friendly.
Autosave functionality now removes the need for users to manually click 'save' during the course of completing the form, and it is now also possible for users to attach documents within the secure messaging facility.
Revenue Scotland requests that all SETS users use the secure messaging function for communicating taxpayer information, as this provides further layers of e-security that are not available with email. In future, Revenue Scotland will also advise users of updates to SETS through the secure messaging system.
In addition to the introduction of these functions, users will also notice that:
- agent details now pre-populate on the form
- the relevant date now stays populated when the draft is changed, making the experience of completing an LBTT return even easier than before
The issue that prevented some Safari users from accessing SETS has been resolved as part of the update. You can see all LBTT service updates on Revenue Scotland's website.
