Well, here we are again at the end of another year, and what a year 2016 has been! I’m sure you’ll all agree that it has been a busy one, but, once again, I look back at a successful 12 months, with all of the change we’ve already been through on our digital transformation journey, and the progress we’ve made across all of our projects and initiatives.
This year, we’ve continued our focus on improving our customers’ experience of dealing with RoS. We’ve worked closely with our customers in designing new products and services, and through this ethos we’ve introduced many improvements to our service offering, like our deed plan approval and forthcoming digital discharge service, and, in doing so, we’ve made it easier to do business with us.
The land register completion programme has continued at pace, with focus on voluntary registration, and, more recently, with the launch of keeper-induced registration – which will move us closer to our aim of completing the land register by 2024.
2017 will be another year of change: in February we’ll move to St Vincent Plaza, our new high-tech home in Glasgow; we’ll launch our new landlord register; and the digital transformation programme will continue to roll out.
And throughout the year, we’ll celebrate the 400th anniversary of the register of sasines – the oldest national land register in the world – with a number of events and activities, not least of which will be the hosting of the Registrars of Titles conference next October, where we’ll welcome land registrars from around the world to Edinburgh.
As we look towards 2017, I’d like to take a moment to wish you and your families a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.
