Message from the keeper January 2016

Published: 29 January 2016

Here it is already: the second half of the second decade of the new millennium. It seems like only yesterday the countdown clock was on the Forth Bridge - how time flies. As my first message of the year, I wish you all a belated happy new year.

2016 is going to be an exciting year for Registers of Scotland. We'll be well on our way on our digital transformation  journey. New products and services will be launched. We'll be operating fully in the 2012 Act world. And our land register completion project will continue apace with plenty of activity on all fronts: the  new trigger that closes the sasine register to standard securities; a large number of voluntary applications; and the start of keeper-induced registration.

This year will also see us continuing with our investment in staff and organisational development. We'll be recruiting new staff as well as looking at how we can provide ongoing development and promotional opportunities for our people.

As always, our customers are at the centre of everything we do, and I very much look forward to working with you all in the year ahead.
