In early July, Sheenagh Adams (the keeper) and I had our first meeting with our new Minister, Keith Brown, Cabinet Secretary for the Economy, Jobs and Fair Work. We had already provided him with some general briefing on RoS and the work we do so the main topics for discussion was land register completion. We welcomed the opportunity to explain our progress and plans in more detail, including Keeper-induced registration, which we will be starting to roll out later this year. You will find further information on our land register completion activity on our dedicated page.
This month also saw the release of the latest quarterly statistics. The total value of the residential property market continues to make an important contribution to the Scottish economy. We saw a sustained increase in the volume of sales during the previous financial year and this trend is continuing in the first quarter of 2016-17. Please view the full statistical analysis report.
Finally, I know a number of you are involved in helping us shape our future digital services, and many of you responded to our Annual Customer Survey earlier in the year. I would like to thank you for your input. Internally, we have been discussing with all our staff the ‘Big Picture’ for RoS; in small groups we have been talking about what we will look like by the end of 2017, and what those changes mean for what we do and how we do it. We want to keep improving our services to you.
