Sheenagh Adams has thrown her support behind a drive to ensure that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people are treated with respect in the workplace.
The campaign, which is being co-ordinated by DLA Piper Scotland, features messages of support from a number of senior figures from across the legal industry, as well as the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who was a solicitor before entering politics.
A series of supportive videos will be released over the coming weeks, and the keeper’s message will go live on 20 June.
Speaking about her involvement in the #theseareourprinciples campaign, the keeper said:
“Registers of Scotland (RoS) is delighted to give our support to this campaign and it is fitting that it is being launched in the same week as International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO). Nobody should be treated unfairly in their workplace because of their sexual orientation or gender identity and RoS prides itself on being an equal opportunities employer, which supports, values and respects its staff.
“We will be present at this year’s Edinburgh pride event in June, and will continue to mainstream equalities – including LGBT equality – in all of our work.”
