Statutory fees charged by Registers of Scotland will remain at the same rate they have been since January 2011.
In a welcome boost for the Scottish economy and home-buyers alike, the Scottish Government have announced that there will be no change to the fees charged by Registers of Scotland. Minister for Public Finance, Kate Forbes announced,
“I am pleased that once again it has been possible to support home-buyers by freezing registration fees, which have been held at their present level since 2011.
”Keeping registration fees at their current level will help those transacting on a property, as will the ongoing development of Scotland’s Land Information Service which will make accessing land and property information more accessible and affordable.”
Jennifer Henderson, the Keeper of the Registers of Scotland, added:
“I’m delighted that we are able to keep our statutory fees at their current level. We will continue to support the Scottish economy by providing modern, efficient and high-quality services as we work towards the 2024 target set by ministers for Land Register completion.”
