Keeper of the Registers of Scotland


Jennifer Henderson is responsible for leading Registers of Scotland. She works with the board to set the strategic direction for the organisation.

She has been the Keeper since April 2018.

Jennifer is also a member of the Accounts Commission for Scotland, working with other members of the commission to hold councils and other local government bodies in Scotland to account and helping them improve by reporting to the public on their performance.

Previous roles

Jennifer has been with the Civil Service since 1994.

Her previous roles include:

  • deputy director at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
  • operations director and transformation director at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory
  • non-executive director on the board of Ploughshare Innovations Ltd

Transparency

Expenses since 2020 are lower than normal because of COVID-19 pandemic.
