Everyone carrying out letting agency work in Scotland must, by law, be on the register and must follow the statutory Letting Agent Code of Practice.
Operating as a letting agent without a letting agent registration number after 1 October 2018 is a criminal offence.
Letting agents are required to reapply every 3 years, and keep their relevant training and qualifications up to date.
