Corporate plan 2022-2027
The latest version of the Corporate Plan is now available. This outlines our objectives for the period 2022 – 2027, how we plan to achieve them and how we will measure performance.
RCI goes live - 01 April 2022
We are delighted to announce our 21st register, the Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI for short), is now live.
You can now submit an entry for registration.
RCI will provide information on the people making key decisions on land and property.
It will show who has significant influence or control over the owner or tenant (for more than 20 years) of land and property in Scotland where this information may not be publicly transparent elsewhere.
Entry onto the register is free, with a year’s grace period (to 01 April 2023) when offence provisions for non-compliance come into force.
View our previous webinars or watch our demo.
Contact RCI@ros.gov.uk for more information.
Country of Origin report
The latest Land and Property Titles in Scotland by Country of Origin report is now available. It provides an analysis of titles in Scotland as at 31 December 2021 by the location of the owner or tenant at the time of purchase.
The Country of Origin Company report is also available. You can buy this report to find details of registered titles owned by or leased to companies outside of the UK.
Email data@ros.gov.uk to order your copy.
Link to historic maps on ScotLIS Business
You can now go direct to the National Library of Scotland’s historic maps as part of your Land Register Search on ScotLIS Business. You can find the link just above the map, on the right-hand side. This change has been made based on your customer feedback and we are delighted to collaborate with the National Library Scotland to enhance our services.
Self-serve copy deeds on ScotLIS Business
Sasine copy deeds will soon be available on a self-serve basis on ScotLIS business. This service will allow you to search for, select, buy and download Sasine copy deeds immediately from ScotLIS.
More information and dates are coming soon.
Interactive house price statistics
We have given our House Price statistics an upgrade by publishing them on interactive Tableau dashboards.
From the 1st of April you can quickly and easily see visual representations of the average residential property process, volumes of property sales and the monthly value of residential sales. The interactive menus allow you to choose your own combinations from statistics, local authorities and financial years (dating back to 2003).
No new software licences or technical skills are required, it is a simple process to produce and download the graph you want.
If you wish to, you can still access our monthly house price statistics supporting data.
RoS wins ODP ‘A Modern Civil Service’ award
We recently won an Operational Delivery Professional award for our digital response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The service was recognised for embodying the Modern Civil Service vision - to be skilled, innovative and ambitious – and for highlighting the commitment of RoS colleagues to go above and beyond to promote modernisation and reform within government.
Thank you to our customers – you have embraced the service and helped revolutionise the way the legal profession interacts with land registration in Scotland.
Register Land & Property (RLP)
RLP is available on the Online Services home page to all firms who submit land register applications. RLP is a more efficient way to draft, submit and track advance notices and applications.
We have 444 firms already using RLP, and over 36,000 cases have been created. Based on customer feedback we are continuing to develop and roll out service improvements, including, most recently, the option to search for a UK company using the company number.
Next we’re looking at ways to make it even easier to enter party information, including aliases/alternative names, and executor & trustee details, and exploring options for making a case private so that others in your organisation can’t view it.
For more information, including a demonstration, you can access the recordings of our recent webinars or join us at our next webinar on 1st June.
