Interested in our Servitudes Pilot?

We've seen growing demand for servitude information before applications are submitted for registration. In response, we're launching a paid Servitudes Pilot as an extension of our Plans Reports service.

Plans Reports currently show ownership boundaries on an Ordnance Survey map extract, including land held in exclusive ownership and areas with shared rights. Servitudes are not currently included.

The Pilot will give customers access to servitude information alongside existing Plans Reports, helping them build a more complete picture of a property or area of land before applying for registration.

The Pilot will run for around six months and will help us assess demand and explore the potential for a future servitude plotting service.

To find out more and request a welcome pack, email crteam@ros.gov.uk. You'll also need to sign the Pilot terms and conditions to take part.

Introducing our Customer Charter

An excellent customer experience is at the core of what we do. That's why, as part of National Customer Service Week 2026, we launched our new Customer Charter.

Shaped by customer feedback, it focuses on getting things right first time, clear communication, fair and consistent service, and being available when support is needed. It also sets out how we'll report on our performance, helping to ensure transparency and accountability.

Improving access to Sasine deeds – changes come into effect 17 November 2026

In August, we told you about changes RoS and National Records of Scotland were working together on to improve how customers access Sasine deeds.

From Tuesday 17 November 2026, Sasine deed requests for anything post 1869 will only be processed by Registers of Scotland. As the statutory keeper of the General Register of Sasines, Registers of Scotland is already the primary provider of this service.
