Equality and Diversity Mainstreaming report 2023
As a public sector organisation, RoS has a duty to promote and uphold the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work. We recognise that creating an environment that values diversity and fosters inclusion is not only the right thing to do, but it is also crucial for the wellbeing of our colleagues and the success of our business.
Read our latest Equality and Diversity Mainstreaming report 2023 to find out more about our progress to date and plans for the future.
Unlocking Sasines helps deliver the benefits of a completed land register
In our latest blog, Head of Land Register Completion, Nikki Duke, shares an update on the Unlocking Sasines project and how customers can access the new Unlocking Sasines dataset as part of a pilot phase.

Register of Deeds – no need for additional colour copies
You will no longer need to send in additional colour copies of pages or plans when submitting documents to the Register of Deeds.
We will now add colour copies of pages up to A3 from the original into your extracts. We will reduce any larger plans to a colour A3 size, unless otherwise advised.
Improving processing times – same day settle
We are working on improving turnaround times for dealings applications. Some cases will soon be processed on the day they're received. This means that you may receive two RoS email notifications the next working day:
- an acknowledgement of receipt; and
- confirmation of acceptance onto the register
More information coming soon.
RCI - latest news and features
We continue to work with customers to improve their experience of making a submission to RCI. To keep up to date with new features released, see our What’s New pages.
Our monthly webinar series continues focussing on Unincorporated Bodies and the RCI on 7 June. See our website to find out more and book your place.
Scottish Ministers encourage everyone who is within scope of the RCI legislation to engage with the process as early as possible.
You now have until 1 April 2024 before RCI offence provisions have effect. For more information visit the Scottish Government website.
RLP
We have expanded Register Land and Property (RLP) capability to include deeds over part of a registered title, which do not transfer title – for example, a standard security or deed of servitude over part of a title. This means that RLP cases can now be created for all types of ‘dealings with whole’ except deeds involving multiple titles or leases.
