A new homepage and improved visualisation
We have added a distinction between "data" and "statistics":
- data refers to property sales data reports and information services that we provide for a fee
- statistics are the processed, summarised, and interpreted forms of that data, available free of charge on our website.
The updated sales and bespoke data services page highlights the range of information available to customers; including sales data, GIS data, and data matching.

Streamlining statistical publications
We have streamlined our regular scheduled publications by consolidating three separate reports (monthly, quarterly, and calendar year) into a single monthly release. These statistics are now available both as downloadable Excel files and via interactive maps and charts.
The new charts and interactive map make the data more meaningful to a wider audience and enable users to explore a wider selection of house price data. New content pages bring context by showing average house prices and historic property market trends over time.
Our Small Area Statistics are now available as an Excel spreadsheet, downloadable from our website, as well as being accessible from Scottish Government’s Open Data Platform.
By streamlining access to data and improving how it is presented, we’re supporting legal professionals, researchers, and the media in making informed decisions based on accurate, timely, and accessible information.
We’d welcome your feedback as we continue to make improvements to ensure Registers of Scotland data and statistics serve the needs of our customers most effectively.
