How to order Land Register Deeds

The Land Register of Scotland is our main register. It registers ownership of land and property in Scotland.

You can find land and property information for registered titles by searching in the Land Register of Scotland through our ScotLIS Service. You can even search by postcode.

If the property is registered, you can purchase the title sheet and title plan, which provides property details and property owners.

If the property is not in the Land Register, it will likely be recorded in the Register of Sasines.

Deeds are used to create title sheets.

If you have a business services account, you must use the business services copy deed form.

To order a Land Register deed, you’ll be asked to choose the register.

Choose ‘Land Register’.

You will be asked for details such as:

  • copy type (plain or extract copy – extracts are usually used for court purposes)
  • title number
  • property address
  • deed type
  • the date of registration (optional)
  • named parties (optional – these are the names of the people in the deed)

If you do not have this information, you can ask us to conduct a Property Search or Land Title Investigation.

Order Individual deeds from the Land Register or Land Register Archive on ScotLIS.
