“RoS supported my Master's in advanced security and digital forensics”
RoS has always supported my personal development. In 2019, an opportunity arose with Napier University to study on their Master’s degree course. As the course content aligned directly with my role and responsibilities at RoS I was able to take all the things I learned and directly relate them to the work I do every day. I feel like it has given me the added confidence to advise and support colleagues on security matters, while also giving me the tools and experience to develop others in the years to come.
Taking on a Master's degree, on top of a full- time job and family commitments was a lot of work. However, initiatives such as the Employee Passport (where I can privately share my needs and circumstances with new line managers), the Carers Network (a group of colleagues who are also carers who come together to support one another), hybrid working arrangements, and the general support and encouragement from colleagues made all the difference. One of the highlights was being able to take my young daughter to my graduation to hopefully inspire her for the future.
