We enclose a copy of most of the information you requested regarding the types of software and applications in use at RoS in the file ‘CW-2023-207 Information’ under the ‘Software Information’ tab.
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this case we consider software ‘version/release’ to be exempt information under Section 30 (c) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (Prejudice to effective conduct of public affairs). This exemption applies as the disclosure of this information would compromise the integrity and security of our information technology (IT) systems.
This is a qualified exemption, therefore the information must be disclosed unless the public interest in disclosing the information is outweighed by the public interest in maintaining the exemption.
We acknowledge that there is a public interest in openness and transparency within the public sector. However, in this instance we believe that this is outweighed by the public interest in ensuring the integrity and security of our IT systems.
