Information requested:

  1. The total amount spent in the last five financial years on public relations, both in-house and externally (split if possible).
  2. The total number of public relations officers or communications officers employed by your organisation over the last five years.

Response

  1. External: RoS has spent £113,243.41 with three suppliers over the last five financial years. This cost has primarily been spent on media monitoring and licences for the data provided. Please see the attached file: ‘CW-2023-175 Information’ for an annual breakdown of this spend.

    In-house: Our only in-house Public Relations (PR) spend is the cost of employing one PR manager at Higher Executive Officer (HEO) level. More information on our pay and grading structure can be viewed on our publication guide under the ‘What we spend and how’ section or directly (PDF).

  2. Over the last five years, one member of staff has been employed within the communications team as a PR Manager.
