Test Analyst

“I like to tell people my job is to break things. I make sure that the tech products our teams produce are high quality, accessible and fit for purpose.”

I came into the organisation at 17 and in the past few years I took the leap to move into the technical space to become a Test Analyst.

It’s only when you talk to people outside the organisation, that you realise what a good place RoS is in technology wise. We collaborate and share our learning across the public sector. We’ve got a real focus on innovation and we’re not shying away from the challenges of making our registers digital.

I was nervous initially, but it was brilliant because it's just such a welcoming group of people. My mentors were great and came into the office with me every day to train. Our Community of Practice test space is fantastic. From day one they were like “anything you need, come to anybody”.

Working in RoS as a younger person hasn’t been a barrier. People take you on face value and what you can contribute to a team. We’re pretty diverse in terms of age. Some people have got this brilliant knowledge because they've been here for 30 odd years. And then you've got newer skill sets coming in. There is a really good balance.
