Changes to some Transfer of Part Title Sheets - pilot

Our main priority is to clear our open casework. To help us process cases more quickly, we’re exploring a different way to present a small number of Transfer of Part (TP) title sheets.

Over the coming months, you may start to see examples of Embedded Title Sheets (ETS), either as title sheet extracts provided on completion of an application, or on ScotLIS.

This is a pilot phase to explore whether this new approach is helpful for our customers, and whether it should be rolled out further.

You can find out more in our blog.

Register of Deeds service update

Register of Deeds Acknowledgement Letters will soon be available instantly via email once your deeds have been registered.

Once this benefit is available, please make sure to include an email address with your Register of Deeds (RoD) submission. This will allow our automated system to notify you as soon as a deed is registered. The best way of doing this is to send in your deed with a C&S1 submission form.

We’ll have a confirmed launch date for this service soon, so watch this space for more updates.

Improving sustainability and security in our data centre

We’re always striving to use the latest in digital technologies to benefit our customers and support our colleagues.

Find out how we have been working to future-proof our IT network and on-site data centre in a blog from our Head of IT Enablement, Paul Christie.

Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI)

The deadline for submissions of those in scope of RCI is fast approaching - 1 April 2024.  Non-compliance is an offence and may risk a fine of up to £5,000.

We continue to work with customers to improve their experience of making a submission to RCI.

  • Familiarise yourself with our RCI guidance articles, in addition to guidance on the registration process, there are also video tutorials which are easily accessible and designed to help our customers.
  • Access our What’s New pages to keep up to date with new features released such as the copy functionality.
  • Sign up for our March webinar on where we will provide a live demonstration of the service showing how to create an entry.

Scottish Ministers encourage everyone who is within scope of the RCI legislation to engage with the process as early as possible.

It is free to register. For more information visit the Scottish Government website.

Entries on the register are published 30 days after submission. You can search the register for free by accessing the search webpage.
