These statistics come from the land register. They date back to April 2003, when the last of Scotland's counties joined the land register.

The latest spreadsheet contains monthly, quarterly and calendar year statistics since April 2003. This will be updated and revised monthly, with new quarters and calendar years added when the period is completed. We welcome any feedback on these statistics, contact statistics@ros.gov.uk.
The statistics include median, mean, volume and value of all residential market value property sales for each local authority in Scotland.
The spreadsheet also includes quarterly and/or calendar year information on:
- new build status
- house type
- funding status
- price bands
- quartiles and deciles
- Urban Rural Classification: 3, 6 & 8-Fold (since Jan 2022)
- Scottish Island Regions

Upcoming release dates
Our monthly statistics are published on the first working day of the month. New quarters are published in the second month after quarter end. A new calendar year is added February the following year.
