Register of Deeds - mixed format deeds
You can now submit mixed format deeds to the Register of Deeds. This is a combination of wet signed documents and QES signed documents (such as missives or counterpart documents).
You can read more detailed information in our recent news item.
Register Land and Property update
Register Land and Property (RLP) now supports paper and digital discharges of standard securities. Digital Discharge Service (DDS) is still available for managing discharges in progress which were started before 7th October, with all new requests now routed to RLP.
RLP will soon support cases where the subjects are undergoing registration, i.e. where a draft title has been created and has a title number, but the title has not yet been fully registered.
TSB now on DDS
Earlier this month TSB joined the Digital Discharge Service. The Discharge Service is now part of RLP (Register Land and Property) where you can request a digital discharge of a residential standard security for this lender.

New Audit and Risk Committee member
Following a competitive recruitment process, Registers of Scotland (RoS) is delighted to welcome Dónall Curtin to its Audit and Risk Committee.
Dónall joins the Audit and Risk Committee as a Non-Executive member, bringing with him a wealth of public and private sector experience in accountancy, corporate governance, finance, and audit and risk management.
RCI
The Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI) will increase public transparency over decision making concerning land. It will ensure there can no longer be categories of owner or tenant where, intentionally, or otherwise, control of decision making is obscured. There is a 1-year grace period to 1 April 2023 before offence provisions for non-compliance in RCI come into force.
Find out more about whether you need to register and how to go about it.
We also have an RCI online support tool to assist users to self-determine if they need to submit to RCI.
