Customer Satisfaction survey

Our customer satisfaction survey is now live and will be open until 1 March at 9am.

It takes around ten minutes to complete, and you can remain completely anonymous if you wish. However, there is an option to add your details if you require a specific response.

Complete the survey.

New Register of Community Interests in Land website

Our new website for the Register of Community Interests in Land is now available for Community Bodies. It provides a more accessible, secure, and user-friendly service to customers. You can now view the register as a whole or by county. You can also see the registration number, who is the landowner, postcodes, and status of the registration.

If you have any queries, please contact customerservices@ros.gov.uk

Access the register.

Public Guidance pages

Based on customer feedback we have created a public guidance page outlining the services we offer and how best to access them.

Find out more and let us know what you think about them.

Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI)

The deadline for submissions of those in scope of RCI is 1 April 2024. Thereafter offence provisions will be in effect for non-compliance, with those committing an offence being at risk of a fine of up to £5,000.

We continue to work with customers to improve their experience of making a submission to RCI.

  • Familiarise yourself with our RCI guidance articles, these are easily accessible and designed to help our customers navigate the legislation and the registration process.
  • Access our What’s New pages to keep up to date with new features released such as the copy functionality.
  • Sign up for our February and March RCI webinars, where we will present live demonstrations of the service showing how to create and how to manage an entry. See our webinar page to find out more.

Scottish Ministers encourage everyone who is within scope of the RCI legislation to engage with the process as early as possible.

For more information visit the Scottish Government website.

Register Land and Property (RLP)

RLP now supports dispositions, standard securities and deeds of restriction for plots within any new build housing development. This includes those which have not been through the development plan approval (DPA) process.

Performance reporting

At RoS we have a strategic objective to deliver more benefits to Scotland by providing innovative and accessible land and property data. This goal is extremely important to us, and we know that we have more work to do to achieve it.

Our vision is for RoS to unlock the full potential of its data assets through machine-readable data services, maximising value to the citizens of Scotland, RoS, and its customers. You can read more about this in our Making data more accessible blog.

You can keep up to date with how we are performing by visiting our performance pages.

RoS now provides the majority of our services digitally. We have established hybrid working for colleagues, and visitors can attend our offices by invitation.
